Meet Your Guide
You’ve spent most of your life making sure others have what they need, at home, at work, in your volunteering activities.
YOUR needs often end up last on the list.
And let’s face it – how often do you get to the last item on your to-do list?
Hi, my name is Sherri Stockman.
I help women who are done with putting their own needs last, to resolve their chronic health issues, even if conventional and alternative medicines have failed them.
They hire me to guide them into Body-Mind-Soul Balance that turns the tables on a complicated diagnosis and transmutes it into Total Life Transformation.
This allows them to share their Gifts and Make their Difference in the world… without risking their health again.
The Backstory:
Many people know me as the Health Food Store Lady who could tell you what to do for most any ailment, from colic to cancer. I worked hard, and I helped a whole lot of folks, standing in the aisles of that store.
And I have to say – it felt REALLY good to be able to help so many people to heal themselves.
But what most people don’t know is that by the time I closed my little store, I was burned out, overweight, and my own health was deteriorating.
Ironic, right?
I was so busy taking care of everyone else that I wasn’t taking care of myself.
A few months after my “retirement” I had a close encounter with a tick, and my poor health allowed me to get Lyme disease. And soon, its little tagalong friends started showing up, too. Lung and nerve problems, aches and pains, chronic fatigue.
Because I had helped a lot of people with many types of health problems over the years, I knew what I needed to do to get well. That was a definite advantage.
And in the process of healing my body, I had a huge epiphany. I realized that my biggest issue wasn’t my collection of illnesses.
It was my belief that my own needs weren’t as important as everyone else’s.
The fact that I had overlooked or ignored the need for my own self-care is what had allowed all my health problems to manifest in the first place.
What made it even worse was that being ill myself, I was unable to do the things that had brought me such joy in the past. Using my knowledge and skills to help others had always lit me up, made me feel like I was doing what I was born for.
I am hard-wired to Serve, my life purpose is to help people heal themselves.
And I had been doing that.
But I learned that old, unhealed trauma from my past was leaving me vulnerable to even more trauma and low self-esteem in the present. Which had led to poor self-care, because I felt my own needs were unimportant.
I had never developed healthy personal boundaries.
As a result of having poor boundaries, I managed to slip from service… into sacrifice.
And sacrifice can get very expensive… time and money, sure, but even more importantly, at some point that sacrifice literally moves to the cellular level of your physical body.
Back when I was working in my store, I had often advised caregivers to be sure to take time for themselves. Learn to delegate. Learn when “no” is the best answer.
But somehow, I guess I thought that advice didn’t apply to me.
And my health had broken down, my physical systems were no longer working like they were supposed to. My doctor was unable to offer any long-term relief. The medical treatment did get rid of the infection, but it also sent me spiraling downward with additional symptoms.
I had lost my health, me, the woman who had always been so strong. I had very little energy; everything exhausted me so much that I was no longer capable of doing my good work in the world. My family and some of my friends seemed to think I was exaggerating, too sensitive, even lazy.
Fortunately, through the fog of pain and depression, I made the decision that I was not going to allow this dysfunction to continue indefinitely. And with the help of good friends and a couple of mentors, I gradually began pulling myself back up.
I’ve made great strides with my health, and several years ago was able to begin helping others again. I’m absolutely committed to my own personal and spiritual growth, too.
And this is why I do the work I do today, because I know what it’s like to be shackled by chronic illness. And I see too many women who have spent so much time and energy helping others, and are now struggling with chronic health issues that are keeping them from doing the things they want to do.
So, I help them by using my skills as a Naturopath and Medical Intuitive to uncover the root causes of these challenges. Then together, we resolve them, and they feel better, their health improves, they have energy again. They get their life back, and some are even able to get off their prescription meds.
I dearly hope that your life and health hasn’t gotten to the miserable state mine was back then.
But even if it has, please know that it’s possible to feel good again, to find JOY again.
