Yep, it’s that time of year again.
Time to look back, evaluate the stuff you did, what you didn’t do, what or how you’ll do it differently in the future.
Then there’s the whole New Year’s Resolution thing.
Almost half of us make them. It’s done with good intentions, I’m sure. But the track record is kinda lousy.
Less than 10% of the “resolved” are successful (meaning around 5% of the population succeed). I find that a bit discouraging. Which is probably why I don’t do New Year’s resolutions.
But in spite of abysmal statistics, I am going to make one this year.
What is it? To decide each day, what my resolution will be.
Hopefully, they’ll each have something to do with
- Acting in loving kindness (for myself as well as for others)
- Seeing every person for the beloved child of God they are (even when I abhor their actions or beliefs)
- Allowing my light to shine instead of hiding it under that blasted bushel (even though this may result in rejection)
- Being as present in each and every moment as I can be. So I always get to start fresh, with a clean slate.
And maybe most important of all…
- To forgive myself when I fall short.
Because I will.
Wishing you health, happiness, and prosperity in the coming new year and always.
And a clean slate, of course.
