Seems unfair, doesn’t it? But if you’re “spiritually gifted” yourself, I bet you know exactly what I mean.
Most of my clients (nearly all of them, in fact) are healers. This is likely because part of my life purpose is to help Healers to heal, so they can more easily get out into the world and do their own Healing Work.
And many of those awesome, gifted people have had or are having a rough time of things. Which is why they’re looking for help, right?
Here’s what I’ve noticed:
1.) Little crap shows up in your life to give you an opportunity to react to it…
OMG! I have a flat tire. I really don’t need this today. Why does this stuff always happen? Especially when I’m already stressed out?
… or to detach from it and realize it’s just a thing that’s going on.
Not good. Not bad.
I have a flat. Good thing I learned how to change a tire. I had a feeling those wet wipes would come in handy. I’ll call my appointment and let them know I’ll be late.
And this little crap just might be a gift that you’re too close to recognize right now. It does happen…
I remember a time when I was coming home from work on the Dallas freeway. The way the exits worked coming out of downtown, I had about a quarter mile to move over five lanes to make it to the bridge I needed to cross to get home.
And some rude, speeding, !*#@X!! driver cut me off.
Now there was no way I could make my exit. Meaning a detour of many miles.
I was SO angry. I actually yelled cuss words inside my car. The nerve of that person!!
That was when I saw something up ahead, at about where I’d be in traffic if I hadn’t been cut off.
I watched in slow motion as a car got too close to one of those construction lane divider thingeys. Like some kind of freakish skateboard ramp, it sent that car into a half somersault, landing it upside down on the pavement.
And I would have been right behind it. And crashed into it.
If not for that blessed inconsiderate driver who cut me off.
Wow, did my tune change! Suddenly grateful, I decided the best thing I could do in that moment was to blanket the whole situation with healing Reiki energy and get out of the way of the emergency vehicles.
I can’t tell you how happy I was to have missed being on the news that night.
2.) Little crap comes up in your life because it’s ready to be healed. Like a splinter in your finger that’s festered up, trying to push its way out. Or at least get your attention so you’ll grab the tweezers and take care of it.
This is where the work comes in. At least for me, and maybe for you.
I know people who can just decide to make a change in their life or their consciousness, and they just do it. Like a good Nike fan.
I seem to be a little more stubborn when it comes to letting go. Even with things I don’t like and certainly don’t want in my life.
I find my stubbornness annoying sometimes, but it does have its good points, too.
And it gives me a good deal of comfort knowing that learning how to work with this part of me, means I’ll be better equipped at helping others who are going through the same issues in their own lives.
Here’s something else I’ve noticed:
There are many healers who have the Gift of Transformation. This gift can really seem like a curse, because it usually turns your life upside down. A lot. And often.
Others may even see you as a flake because your life is such a roller coaster (you may see yourself that way, too). Constantly in an amazing growth cycle, which turns into a “cleansing” detox sort of thing, where there is a lot of loss.
You may lose your job, your home, your marriage… something else.
Obviously, this can be really tough, to say the least.
And I’ve learned that when I’m able to ride the wave instead of resisting all the horrible shit I’m encountering, the loss can morph into something even more amazing than I had before.
Many gardeners will tell you that shit makes for great compost, and compost builds the best gardens with the most nutritious vegetables.
There’s bound to be a correlation here 🙂
So, you may want to consider allowing the river to take you to your goal, instead of always paddling upstream.
As usual, there is a caveat.
I’m not saying it’s a good thing to let others take advantage of you, or to harm you in any way. Maybe sometimes the appropriate action IS to fight.
Only you can make that decision. It’s YOUR life, after all.
If you have some “wannabe compost” that’s showing up in your life so it can be healed, I’d like to offer you a free gift. Click here to begin.
And on that rather serious note, I leave you with the following video from an awesome life coach (from California, I believe).
Take it away, JP….
