Here’s a simple-to-make, non-toxic toothpaste recipe so you can avoid the dangers of fluoride. Even glycerine, which was once thought to be safe, is now said to dry out your gums, making them easier to injure.
The following toothpaste recipe is made of all safe ingredients and it only takes a few minutes to put together a batch.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup aluminum-free baking soda
1/4 cup extra virgin coconut oil
5 Tablespoons Xylitol
2 teaspoons organic peppermint extract
Combine the ingredients until smooth, and then store in a glass container.

Oooohh..this is interesting. Never imagined we could make our own toothpaste! Thanks for sharing this Sherri 🙂
Yeah, funny that’s it’s not that hard. And it’s actually less expensive than buying the stuff in the tube. Plus, no disposable packaging.
Win-win-win!
I hadn’t thought of making my own toothpaste! One to try, although I’m not sure about the peppermint, may need to cut that back a little.
Hi Jan. I thought the same at first, because I’m accustomed to using high-grade essential oils (that are safe to eat). Two teaspoons of Peppermint essential oil just might blow the top of your head off! 😉
This recipe calls for organic peppermint extract, which I think is an excellent idea, because it’s much easier to find, and also more affordable.
Thanks for your input!
