And Why Do I Need One?
Everyone comes in contact with toxins just by living here on Planet Earth. Some toxins come from the foods you eat while others are from air, water, and environmental pollution.
Even if you live a very healthy lifestyle, you can still have toxins that build up in your body.
If you don’t work to clear toxins out, they can wreak havoc in your body. They lead to weight gain, faster aging, chronic disease, and loss of energy. By doing a detox cleanse, you can help to rid your body of toxins and restore better health.
There are different methods for detoxification. As you learn more about them, you can decide what will work best for you.
There’s really no right or wrong way to do it as long as you make sure that the methods won’t interact with any health condition you have or medication you’re taking. Or doing something that’s just plain unsafe.
One tasty way is a juice cleanse. This is taking a time period from one day to two weeks when you only drink juice that you’ve made yourself. Preferably using organic produce. It’s better to use mostly vegetables, but some fruits may be used for sweetness.
You can also do a cleanse using herbal supplements.
There are SO many supplements on the market that help your liver, colon, kidneys, even your blood to clear themselves of built up toxins.
You’ll need to follow the directions that come with the product to know what the process is, because it can vary between brands.
You could also choose a raw food cleanse. Usually this means following a raw food diet (including fermented foods) for at least 30 days.
Raw food means it hasn’t been warmed over 104 degrees F.
You can warm foods, but don’t actually cook them. And no microwaves, please.
The idea is that the food’s enzymes will remain intact, helping to improve digestion and nutrient absorption, allowing your body to throw off toxins. The way it was designed to. Again, organic is best for this to work as well as possible.
Some people have yeast (Candida) overgrowth in their body that causes fatigue, among other things. You can cleanse the body from this by eliminating all sugars and refined flours for a period of time.
Yeast feeds on sugar, so by eliminating sweets from your diet, you can starve it out. This also means letting go of natural sweeteners, fruit, and fruit juice. Most people with chronic Candida problems will also need to use anti-fungal herbs or homeopathics, because it can be quite stubborn.
If you’re not ready to commit to a long-term cleanse, you could begin adding foods to your diet that will naturally detox your body. Foods such as cilantro, parsley, citrus fruits, cinnamon (and spices in general), cumin, curry, and oregano are known for their cleansing properties.
Switching to a diet high in organic foods that are as unprocessed as possible will also help help body to detoxify. If for no other reason than you’re not continuing to add to your “toxic load.”
Have you ever heard of Dry-Brushing your Skin to help your lymphatic system to process toxins and move them out of your body? This simple process has been used successfully for a very long time.
Doing a detox cleanse will be more quick and also more effective, but any positive changes are a good thing.

Thanks for the information. I have been looking for a good cleanse idea. I think I will try that raw foods diet. I know it helps keep more vitamins in the vegetables if you do not heat them up. I think this will help me get much more nutrients out of my meals.
Sure thing, Kody. You’re welcome.
Best wishes as you continue to improve your diet!
Definitely some well-rounded information about cleanses. I like that you included diet aspects as I have heard that diet can be absolutely huge. I am on Kody’s boat, that raw diet cleanse seems very interesting to me. I was actually unaware that yeast feeds on sugar. Crazy what a vicious cycle we put our bodies in when we consume, “junk.” Sugar is the number one producer of fat cells, so I try my best to keep a base level of healthy by excluding soda, candy, and other tempting super sweets out of my diet. Thanks for the delightful article!
